Photo Tours

The mining complex of Mina de S.Domingos and the characteristic houses of this town will be the focus of these photo tours, just bring your curiosity and, of course, your camera!

In the company of photographer Sónia Godinho, who began her journey in this art through what is conventionally called “street photography”, we will take a tour of industrial buildings, now in ruins, which provide a world of infinite possibilities in terms of way of capturing images - the colors, the shadows, the shapes - and will certainly provide moments of great discovery.

We will also take the opportunity to come across some of the public art that is beginning to populate the S.Domingos Mine, the result of the intervention of the artists invited by the Malacate Project, which until June 2023 they are developing with the local community.

The tour will be preceded by a brief explanation of some basic technical aspects, which could be of help to anyone who is starting out in this wonderful art of photography.

Program

• Meeting at the Musical for a brief explanation of some basic theoretical concepts such as composition, exposition, perspective, etc. (30 to 40 min)
• Photographic tour of the mining complex.

Necessary material

Camera, preferably with the possibility of changing parameters (speed, aperture, ISO), but if you only have a compact camera you can participate too, you won't be able to train the more technical aspects but you will train the way of looking and framing a photograph, after all that is the most important - the way we see our surroundings.
