The MALACATE project is financed by the EEA Grants 2014-2021 Financial Mechanism through the Culture, Connecting Dots Program, operated in Portugal by the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage, with the Directorate-General for the Arts as a partner in the program.
Companhia Cepa Torta is the promoter of the MALACATE Project.
The development of the project will be achieved through a transnational cooperation between Companhia Cepa Torta with the Municipality of Mértola , Røros kommune (Norway) and the artist Lise Wulff (Norway).
The artistic activities will be developed from the work of, with and for the local community of Mina de S. Domingos.

Through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA), Iceland, Liechtenstein and
Norway are partners in the internal market with the Member States of the European Union.
As a way to promote a continuous and balanced strengthening of economic relations
and trade, the parties to the EEA Agreement have established a Financial Mechanism
year, known as EEA Grants.
EEA Grants aim to reduce social and economic disparities in Europe
and strengthen bilateral relations between these three countries and the beneficiary countries.
For the period 2014-2021, a total contribution of €2.8 billion has been agreed.
for 15 beneficiary countries. Portugal will benefit from an amount of 102.7 million euros.
