KNOW WHAT ACTIVITIES WILL HAPPEN FROM JANUARY 2022 TO JUNE 2023
ABANDONED MINDS is a creation for Mina de S.Domingos that brings together for the first time two multidisciplinary creators who focus their work on physical theatre: Rui Paixão and Brandon Lagaert.
exploring anxieties and dreams about an imaginary place, where the landscape in ruins is the starting point, an installation will be created in which photography will be the means to think about the (im)possible future.
BOX OF QUESTIONS
Street theatrical show that Companhia Cepa Torta will stage in the ruins of Mina de S. Domingos. It will have the participation of the inhabitants of Mina, and will bring us a fable which takes place in the future - an eco-futuristic perspective of the Alentejo in the XXII century.
There is always an idea of what a place can be like if there is no restraint on the imagination.
Directed to the local community and visitors and guided by a guest artist.
STREET ART INST.
I WAS HERE, I'LL BE HERE
A street art installation at Mina de S. Domingos, resulting from the dialogue between two artists - one Portuguese and one Norwegian -, the mining town of Røros and the Mina de S. Domingos.
OLD SPACE, NEW VOLUME
Challenge launched to Norwegian artist Lise Wulff to create sculptural objects that inhabit the space of Mina de São Domingos in a relationship with the ruins of ancient mining exploration, based on the history of the place and the people who inhabited them.
AT NIGHT ON THE MARKET
It is through the telling of local stories (memories, myths or fantasies) and their theatricalization that we propose to spice up “À Noite no Mercado” to the taste of the Mina that existed, the Mina that exists and the Mina that we imagine.
The MALACATE PROGRAM runs from January 2022 to June 2023 and is divided into 3 major groups:
- Activities with the performative participation of the surrounding communities;
- Creations germinated from the relationship between the artists and the place;
- Workshops to approach artistic enjoyment, expression and creation.
The main activities of MALACATE count on the direct participation of the inhabitants of Mina de S. Domingos and surroundings in their presentations in the form of co-creators and interpreters.
The others will count on the involvement of the public, such as the creation of moments of conviviality between the artists and the population, where the form of work, the concept, the materials and expectations associated with artistic creation will be known.
We also have workshops associated with the programmed activities,
thus presenting a multidisciplinary range of training and/or contacts with artistic expressions such as interpretation, sculpture, photography, public art and dance.
