A street art installation at Mina de S. Domingos, resulting from the dialogue between two artists
ABOUT THE INSTALLATION
I Was Here, I'll Be Here is a street art installation at Mina de S. Domingos, resulting from the dialogue between two artists - one Portuguese and one Norwegian -, the mining town of Røros and the Mina de S. Domingos.
The two artists will go through a residency in the city of Røros, an old mining site reinvented as a museum, then move on to the municipality of Mértola, where, in a disparate climate, a common heritage was shared: mining in an isolated region with few alternative resources.
Here, the artists will create two installations in the public space that reflect this experience and bring the spaces they occupy to life.
This activity will also include a street art workshop that will aim to make known the process of an artist until reaching a wall in the street, from drawing to street art, through collective or individual exercises that are usually inseparable, but these are the exercises that will provide the basis for an idea to be successfully expressed in public space.
