Marina Nabais

Dancer and Coreographer

Born in Luanda, lived in Rio de Janeiro and Amsterdam, and has lived and worked in Lisbon since 1998. Master in Performing Arts, specialization in Theater of Movement, by Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, Lisbon (2011-2013). Bachelor's degree from Escola Superior de Dança, branch of Show, Lisbon (1992-1995). Postgraduate studies at the School For New Dance Development, Amsterdam (1995-1997). Community Dance Course at Fórum Dança de Lisboa (2006). Since 2003, she has been the artistic director, producer and manager of the associations A Menina dos Meus Olhos, a cultural association, and since 2013 Marina Nabais Dança, a cultural association.

As artistic director and choreographer, she highlights: Avesso (2008), Por um Rio (2011), O Peso de uma Semente (2013), Dançário (2014), De Seda (2015), CORPO-MAPA-LIVRO (2016), Na Absence of My Body (2017), Vagar (2018), Blank and Suspended (2019), Small Poems of Now and Mycelium (2020).

As a performer, she worked with: Companhia de Dança de Almada, António Tavares, Nigel Charnock, Peter Michael-Dietz, Teatro “O Bando”, Luís Castro, Lúcia Sigalho, Aldara Bizarro, etc. It also develops pedagogy work in the area of ​​dance, with different age groups and different structures such as: Adeco, Companhia de Dança de Almada, Loures City Council (Dançarte), Culturgest, AMDA, Lugar Presente, Teatro Universitário do Minho, Forum Dança, O Theatre, Maria Matos Theatre, Douro Museum, Viriato Theatre, ArtemRede, Lisbon National Conservatory, Royal Pelagio.
