Rossana Torres

Film Director

She studied visual arts and cinema and attended the Master of Arts Education at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon. Collaborates with several Portuguese directors as assistant director, production, image recording, sound recording, image and sound editing.

She lives in Mértola, Alentejo, where she teaches photography and video and holds various cinema and animation workshops for children and young people. Founds the Association Entre Imagem whose aim is to provide the cultural, creative and social development of the community, through the conception, production and realization of films, cultural, artistic and pedagogical activities and national and international exchanges.

Collaborates with the association Os Filhos de Lumière, in the study, design and implementation of pedagogical programs of artistic education through cinema. She made three films with Hiroatsu Suzuki: 2018 – Terra (co-direction); 2012 – O Sabor do Leite Creme (co-production); 2009 – Cordão Verde (co-production).

The film Terra won the Doclisboa’18 award for Best Film in Portuguese Competition.
