Meeting with local associations from Mina

This past Monday, a group of local associations met with the MALACATE project at the Musical, a meeting that also featured the Mértola City Council.

The purpose of the meeting was to start the preparations for the show "Caixa Perguntas" (Question Box), a community theater creation, directed by Miguel Maia, and integrated into the MALACATE program. The show will be on stage at the ore pier, next to the workshops of the former mining operation, between June 8 and 11, 2023, always at 9:30 pm. The artistic team involved will have professional actors and technicians, in addition to a team of community members who will participate as actors, singers, and in supporting the construction of sets and costumes, in addition to important activities such as public support and surveillance.

In addition to the Councilor for Culture Mrs. Rosinda Pimenta and the head of the Culture division, Mr. Manuel Marques, other representatives were present: from the Mina de S. Domingos Residents' Association, S. Domingos Football Club, the Coral Group, the Pensioners' Association, ALSUD - Professional School and the Senior University. It was in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that many ways were discussed to make this show a unique event in the region and where all miners will feel represented. One thing is for sure: it will be unforgettable!
