ORAL NARRATION

AT NIGHT ON THE MARKET

It is through the telling of local stories (memories, myths or fantasies) and their theatricalization that we propose to spice up “À Noite no Mercado” to the taste of the Mina that existed, the Mina that exists and the Mina that we imagine.

The MALACATE PROGRAM runs from January 2022 to June 2023 and is divided into 3 major groups:

- Activities with the performative participation of the surrounding communities;

- Creations germinated from the relationship between the artists and the place;

- Workshops to approach artistic enjoyment, expression and creation.

The main activities of MALACATE count on the direct participation of the inhabitants of Mina de S. Domingos and surroundings in their presentations in the form of co-creators and interpreters.

The others will count on the involvement of the public, such as the creation of moments of conviviality between the artists and the population, where the form of work, the concept, the materials and expectations associated with artistic creation will be known.

We also have workshops associated with the programmed activities,
thus presenting a multidisciplinary range of training and/or contacts with artistic expressions such as interpretation, sculpture, photography, public art and dance.
