Telmo Soares
Film Director and Musician
Telmo Soares, 29 years old, born in Leiria. With a degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia from the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social in Lisbon, he is co-founder of the Audiovisual Producer CASOTA Collective, where he has been working as a director, director of photography and video editor since 2016. He is a director and trainer in the project “Sob o Same Céu ” and in the project “Artistic Residencies Pavilhão Mozart - Ópera na Prisão” in conjunction with SAMP (Sociedade Artística e Musical dos Pousos), both financed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation through the PARTIS initiative.
His filmography already includes award-winning works such as “NU - a visual album”, winner of best musical film at the Close:Up Reykjavik Film Festival and Mindfield Film Festival Los Angeles, “Ghost” music video nominated for the Berlin Music Video Awards and “ Blues da Quinta” nominated for best music video at the Play - Portuguese Music Awards.
As a video director and editor, he has worked for artists such as Selma Uamusse, Aldina Duarte, Surma, Ana Bacalhau or Noiserv.
He is also a musician and composer of the band "First Breath After Coma" since 2012.
